Older homes naturally show age, but active change matters. Arrange appropriate help when you notice:
- Persistent burning odors, hot switches, buzzing, or repeated breaker trips.
- New structural movement, rapidly changing cracks, or doors suddenly binding.
- Active water entry, recurring stains, or unexplained moisture.
- Sewer odors, wastewater backup, or repeated slow drainage.
- Combustion-equipment soot, abnormal flame behavior, or carbon-monoxide alarms.
- Peeling or damaged suspect materials that may contain lead or asbestos.
- Roof sagging, loose masonry, or exterior elements at risk of falling.
Do not disturb hazardous materials or enter unsafe areas. This list is not exhaustive and does not diagnose a cause.
